  • Founder

    Nicole Gasparo, MA, CCC-SLP is a New York and New Jersey State licensed and ASHA certified Speech Language Pathologist and the owner of Chatterbox Speech & Language. Nicole has been working as a speech language pathologist for the past 16 years. During this time she has had the opportunity to work with children ranging from infancy to school age. Nicole graduated from Kean University where she received her BA in Speech and Hearing (1996) and graduated Magna Cum Laude with her MA in Speech Pathology (1998). Nicole is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, ASHA and NJSHA.

    Nicole specializes in oral motor and feeding disorders, sensory, behavior modification, and speech and language disorders. She has extensive training in the area of Autism/Pervasive Developmental Delay and works with Apraxia utilizing the PROMPT technique. Nicole has provided speech therapy in the preschool, public school setting and for the NYS and NJ Early Intervention home based program. Nicole is very passionate about her therapy with her clients and is continuously seeking out continuing education opportunities to stay current on new therapy techniques and evidence based practices to treat her clients.

  • Leah Cortese, MS, CCC-SLP is a New Jersey State licensed and ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist, with over 13 years of clinical experience. Leah graduated from Syracuse University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She has experience working in a variety of pediatric settings including home-based early intervention, public schools, and a specialized school for children with developmental disabilities. She has treated children with a wide range of communication difficulties, including: oral motor deficits, auditory processing, articulation/phonological disorders, dysfluencies, receptive and expressive language disorders, and feeding.

  • Jocelyn McLoughlin MS, CCC-SLP- is a New York and New Jersey State licensed ASHA certified Speech Language Pathologist with 6+ years experience in the field. Jocelyn completed her undergraduate degree at the State University at New Paltz where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders and a Minor in Deaf Studies (2012). After receiving her BS, she received her Master’s degree at Long Island University in Speech Language Pathology (2015). During her graduate career, she had the opportunity to work with clients who had a variety of communication disorders ranging from early intervention to adults. Her responsibilities at Chatterbox Speech and Language Therapy include providing developmentally appropriate and skilled speech/ language therapy and assessments to children with various disorders.

    She provides services to children who have receptive and expressive language disorders, specific language impairments, articulation/ phonological disorders, fluency disorders as well as children diagnosed with Autism, and ADHD. Jocelyn enjoys working in the private practice setting where she can provide individually based activities tailored to each client’s specific needs that align with his /her goals. She is a knowledgeable Speech Language Pathologist who strongly believes in collaborating with parents and other professionals to ensure that her clients’ speech/ language based needs are achieved.

  • JoAnn Westreich, MA, CCC-SLP is a New Jersey State licensed and ASHA certified Speech Language Pathologist with over 26 years experience. JoAnn graduated with a BA in Speech Pathology from Douglass College, Rutgers University and graduated Magna Cum Laude with her MA in Speech Pathology from Kean University in 1997. JoAnn’s passion for improving communication skills, including emerging literacy skills in children from three to twenty-one, was recognized by her colleagues as Educational Services Provider of the Year in an Ocean County elementary school.

    JoAnn has experience with children with ASD including verbal behavior techniques and play therapy. She has been successful with oral motor therapy skills as well as improving Childhood Apraxia of Speech and Phonological Processes errors. She specializes in a multisensory approach to speech disorders and has been trained in using Lindamood LIPS and Visualizing & Verbalizing. JoAnn also has experience with fluency and rate reduction.

  • Kristina Valler, MS, CCC-SLP is a New York and New Jersey State licensed and ASHA certified Speech Language Pathologist. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Bachelors of Psychology from Rutgers University in 2006. She then went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude with her Masters in Communicative Sciences and Disorders from New York University in 2013. Kristina is also certified as a Speech Language Specialist by the New Jersey Department of Education.

    Kristina is bilingual in Russian and has worked primarily with the pediatric population as early as sixteen months of age. She has experience working in the following pediatric settings: daycares, home based early intervention, public schools, and in a clinical office. Kristina has provided therapy for children with a wide variety of communication disorders including, but not limited to, receptive/expressive language disorders, articulation/phonological disorders, oral motor deficits, apraxia, fluency disorders, and auditory processing delays/disorders.

    Kristina has two children of her own and believes that children thrive best in an atmosphere that is warm, nurturing, respectful, energetic, positive, creative, and most of all fun! She strives to bring these qualities to each session so that each individual can get optimal results from their speech therapy session.
